Old Enough to Buy Art

Heather Landers has been hosting this art show for several years now, when she decided on her 30th birthday that she was old enough to buy art. I thought it was such a great idea, I remember some of the first piece of "real art" I purchased! So I happy to contribute a couple of pieces to the show. I sent these pieces "Decanter", "Black Wine", My "Peas Please" piece-is actually a different version of the piece I posted below. I just wish I was out there to enjoy it all! But this was an opportunity to climb out of my little world of illustration and think differently about my work. I did learn something-these would go great in my own house-ha! AND I hate framing-just hate it. What is that all about? I thought, "Oh, it is only 3 pieces I will do it myself" UGH! I was immediately transported back to college and my senior art show when I had to frame and hang all my own work. Ick!
ANYHOO-I think this is a great idea and if I liked framing and setting up a show, I would do it locally in New England. I would just want to create invites and cater the opening, oh and buy a cute dress for the event of course!!
